A popular Aussie model and business owner has revealed the insane amount of money she received from a single photo shoot.

A popular Aussie model and business owner has revealed the most amount of money she ever received from a single photo shoot.

Madi Edwards is the founder of clothing and bikini brand Kapri The Label. She is also a successful model and boasts more than 770,000 followers on social media.

She was recently stopped on the street in LA by job search app Getahead and, during the conversation, got very candid about what it is really like to be in the modelling industry.

Ms Edwards has worked in the industry for almost 10 years and didn’t shy away when asked what was the “most amount of money” she had ever made from a single modelling job.

“It was a big campaign for $20,000,” she said.

However, she warned getting to that point in her career wasn’t easy and anyone considering joining the industry needed to have thick skin.

“Honestly, to be successful in modelling you really just have to not care about what people think because it is a very judgmental space,” Ms Edwards said.

“But it is also something that is really fun, I have travelled to so many amazing places, met so many amazing people. It really is a really fun job but it’s not for the faint-hearted.”

According to company review website Glassdoor, the average annual salary for a model in Australia ranges from $79,000 to $105,359.

Hourly rates can also range from $20 to $300, depending on the type of modelling and the person’s experience.

Modelling was something the young Aussie kind of “fell into” after finishing school and having “no idea” what she wanted to do as a career.

“You kind of have to work your way up. When I first started I did have to do a lot of test shoots,” she said.

For those wanting to get into the industry, she said the best thing to do was to put yourself out there and constantly message brands.

Ms Edwards capitalised on her knowledge of and passion for the fashion industry by launching her business in 2022.

She said the process of started Kapri The Label was very “daunting”, but soon discovered that the hardest part of having a business was “just starting”.

“I found so much enjoyment in it. I love fashion, I love designing and there is nothing better than seeing your designs come to life on a shoot day and then seeing those sales come through. It’s the best feeling,” she said.
