A former nurse has revealed the moment she thought her mum would “lose her house” and the incredible act she did in response.

A woman earning a “safe salary” of $85,000 a year has revealed how she created a multimillion dollar empire that has allowed her to pay off her mum’s mortgage.

Nadine Muller, 36, was a nurse when she decided to change her “mindset” because she didn’t want to spend the rest of her life working for someone else and barely getting ahead.

Ms Muller grew up with loving parents, but her mum was a migrant who had essentially entered Australia on the “back foot”, and she grew up in a household where money was always a worry.

She looked at her life, in which she was a military nurse and also picked up weekend shifts at a local hospital in Queensland, and realised she wanted to earn enough to break the cycle of financial stress.

Some of her financial worries were compounded by her becoming a mother, and when she was on maternity leave, it was a struggle to live off less pay.

“In order to get ahead. I had to do more, and I had to start working on my time off to get ahead initially,” she told news.com.au.

“I hustled while people were resting.”

The first thing Ms Muller did was try and change the people she was around. She inserted herself into situations where she was hanging out with other entrepreneurs and getting herself away from it being seen as “normal” to do the 9-5 grind until retirement.

Ms Muller started diversifying her earnings by working as a personal fitness trainer, but she quickly felt like she was “trading time for money”, so she pivoted to online coaching.

Online coaching allowed for her to have zero overheads and also widened her customer base; she could coach people from all over the world.

From there she focused on building her personal brand on social media and pivoted into life coaching and business mentoring. Ms Muller quickly worked out what motivated her was helping other people find their purpose.

She’s now started her own coaching business, which has seven employees and is making more than $1 million in revenue.

Ms Muller said her “area of genius” is helping others, and it has been hugely profitable. There are now times when she’ll make in a day what she used to make in a year.

“It is not uncommon to make six figures a day,” she admitted.

That might not happen every day, but it has put her in a position where she can be driven by purpose instead of just trying to pay the bills.

Her huge financial success has, most importantly, allowed her to set up her family.

Ms Muller said after her dad died, her mum was left with a mortgage she simply wouldn’t pay.

Her parents were together for 42 years, and her father was incredibly worried about leaving her mum in a tough financial spot.

“She was going to lose the house, and the ship was sinking, and I needed to start swimming,” she said.

Through her business, she got herself into a financial position where she could pay off her mum’s mortgage, which was $180,000.

It was more than just being able to clear her mum’s debt because she was essentially living in negative it was about being able to change her family’s financial position.

“It was more than just for my mum. It was for me as a little girl,” she explained.

Ms Muller said that “being able to be the person in your bloodline to completely change the story” has been incredibly affirming and rewarding.

She feels strongly that getting her mum out of “debt” has also helped ensure that not only herself but also her own children are less likely to end up in debt.

“Her retirement looks very different now. We’re about to take her on a trip to America, and she can breathe. She’s taken the biggest exhale.”

While her mum has a home, Ms Muller just sold her place because she plans to invest “millions” into setting up a retreat in the Sunshine Coast. It’s a gamble, but she’s learned to bet on herself.
