Fast food fights: Why do they happen?

Work has started on a new McDonald’s in a growing business park in Brisbane’s south eastern suburbs.

Scheduled to open early next year the McDonald’s is next to a Caltex service station at the $250m Rivermakers business park on Lytton Road at Morningside.

The McDonald's is within The Depot precinct — a homemaker and trade centre hub developed by the BMI Group — as part of the estate.

Early this year started on the Rivermakers Heritage Quartet which will become a major southside entertainment precinct.

Revel Brewing Co signed on to open a brewery, tap room and 300-seat farm-to-table restaurant in the heritage-listed former Commonwealth Acetate of Lime factory.

BMI’s other plans for its 2.5ha Rivermakers Heritage Quarter will focus on creating an “industrial wholesale precinct” by attracting business such as smoked meat producers, coffee roasters, nurseries and distillers.

Details about the new McDonald’s are not yet available but it is being built on a 1700sq m site after a leasing deal struck by Colliers International’s Ned McKendry.

The final plans for the development were approved in July after a clarification on the nature of the development was lodged by TFA projects on behalf of McDonald’s Australia Ltd.
