Ascot and Hamilton are home to the biggest earners in Brisbane, new taxable income data released by the ATO reveals.
The elite suburbs of the 4007 postcode had an average taxable income in the 2017-18 financial year of $108,288 from records of 9704 people.

That was up from $107,478 in the financial year before and put the blue ribbon area in 42nd place nationally according to the Australian Tax Office.
Brisbane’s second highest earners were from the semi-rural southside suburb of Chandler, in postcode 4155, where the average income was $103,360.
Staying on that side of the river, residents of Bulimba, Hawthorne and Balmoral were a close third with $102,774 of average income from the 4171 postcode that includes stretches of riverfront mansions.
Leafy Bardon, postcode 4065, came fourth with an average income of $98,818, followed by those at trendy Teneriffe and New Farm where the 4005 postcode residents earned an average of $98,588.
The next highest earners brought home $91,626 at Clayfield and Hendra (4011), $91,291 at Milton and Paddington (4064), $90,118 at Ashgrove and Ashgrove East (4060), $89,144 for those at Brookfield, Chapel Hill. Fig Tree Pocket, Kenmore, Pinjarra Hills, Pullenvale and Upper Brookfield (4069). Neighbouring suburbs of Chelmer, Indooroopilly and Taringa (4068) took out 10th spot at $81,310.
According to the data the lowest taxable incomes recorded for the Brisbane council area were at Doolandella, Durack, Inala and Richlands (4077) where 15,684 residents earned an average taxable income of $42,996 for the 2017-2018 financial year.
That was followed by $45,778 at Archerfield and Coopers Plains (4108), $46,480 at MacGregor, Robertson, Sunnybank, Sunnybank Hills, Sunnybank South (4109), $47,163 at Eight Mile Plains and Runcorn (4113) and $47,446 at Darra and Wacol (4076).
