Astral Resources hits high-grade gold to reinforce Feysville opportunity
A 17-hole campaign at Kamperman in the Feysville project focused on infill drilling and tested multiple structural orientations, aiming to unlock the high-grade gold potential.

Astral Resources receives impressive gold assays from a 17-hole infill RC program
Results include 9m at 5.01g/t gold from 127m
A reconnaissance aircore program across regional targets has also identified new areas of gold anomalism
Special report: A 17-hole infill reverse circulation drilling program has returned fresh high-grade assays, reinforcing the significant gold opportunity at Astral Resources’ Kamperman deposit, 14km south of Kalgoorlie in WA.
Part of a wider 41-hole program for 5782m, the recently completed campaign set out to test several different theories on the potential orientations of high-grade gold structures and extend the area in the main zone across a 400m strike extent.
Standout assays include 9m at 5.01g/t gold from 127m, 4m at 12.2g/t from 119m, 19m at 1.93g/t from 85m, 16m at 2.08g/t from 17m, 6m at 3.14g/t from 121mm, 3m at 8.63g/t from 114m, 3m at 7.6g/t from 130m and 3m at 7.2g/t from 149m.
A zone of supergene enrichment was identified at surface, which overlays several lodes of gold mineralisation interpreted to be associated with quartz veining and shearing or faulting.
Meanwhile, reconnaissance aircore drilling across regional targets within the wider Feysville project outlined several new areas of gold anomalism to be targeted in future RC drilling programs.
The program was split into three areas of focus – the Empire Rose prospect, Central Feysville Anticline and Southern Feysville, with several new gold anomalisms identified.
Additional drilling to expand gold footprint
Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) managing director Marc Ducler said strong gold mineralisation associated with sheared ultramafic and porphyry contacts had been consistently intersected in the RC program, confirming its interpretations of these contacts being a major high-grade mineralisation control.
“Importantly, the Kamperman deposit remains open and further drilling, extending to the north and at depth, is required to determine the greater extent of the gold mineralisation,” he said.
“A broad-based aircore drilling program undertaken at Feysville has delineated several new areas of gold anomalism that will require follow-up in the next Feysville RC program, likely in the September quarter this year.
“At the Central Feysville Anticline, the aircore program identified five areas of gold anomalism, two of which appear to be located along a northeast structure previously identified by aero magnetics,” Ducler added.
“This could be either coincident supergene mineralisation along a lithological contact or more broadly associated with a north-east structure, presenting a plus 300-metre strike length opportunity.”
Background on Feysville
The Feysville gold project is within the north-northwest trending Norseman–Wiluna Greenstone Belt, within the Kambalda Domain of the Archean Yilgarn Craton, 14km south of the KCGM Super Pit in Kalgoorlie.
Significant gold and nickel mineralisation occurs throughout the belt, including world-class deposits such as Northern Star’s Golden Mile Super Pit and the St Ives gold mine, south of Kambalda, owned by Gold Fields.
Feysville hosts a resource of 5Mt at 1.2g/t for 196,000oz of contained gold across the Kamperman, Think Big and Rogan Josh deposits, forming a strong potential satellite ore source for Astral’s flagship Mandilla project, 50km away.

What else is happening?
Other exploration programs in the works include a 17-hole (2683m) RC drill program at the Iris deposit, part of Astral’s Mandilla gold project.
Assay results for this program are pending.
Meanwhile, a 24-hole (3170m) RC drill program is underway at Hestia, also part of Mandilla, targeting extensions along strike to the south on the recently acquired Spargoville tenure.
With the Mandilla PFS well advanced, the continued growth at Kamperman, the discovery of additional regional targets within the broader Feysville tenement package and now, for the first time, a significant RC drill program on the newly acquired Spargoville tenure, Ducler said Astral was making strong progress.
The company is well positioned to advance a significant gold development project and, in tandem, a highly prospective exploration opportunity.
