Ian Grant, Asia Pacific Regional Sales Manager, said it was a more centrally located office for Rolls-Royce and was in line with Brisbane’s growth.
“What we are seeing, not only globally but more domestically, is our customers are quite transient and often have more than one property,” he said.
“Quite often we see people living and working in Sydney or Melbourne and have a second or third home in the Brisbane area.”
The showroom opening will cap a successful year for Rolls-Royce in Australia, marked by an expansion drive that has included the company’s first SUV, the Cullinan, its Black Badge ‘alter-ego’ sibling and demand for its Bespoke Collection models such as Wraith Eagle VIII.
The showroom features a full service customer lounge with lifestyle-themed setting, featuring leather, paint and wood veneer samples.
Mr Grant, 39, said there was an increasing demand for luxury items in Queensland.
“There is a very big draw into Brisbane for high-end luxury items and designer labels and also bespoke items,” he said.
One of the first 2020 Black Badge Cullinan Black Badge SUV’s will be one of three cars on display in the new showroom, alongside the 2017 Phantom VIII.
“(The Cullinan Black Badge) was unveiled last month to the world, and on the day of that announcement, we had the car fly into Brisbane,” Mr Grant said.
“Australia is one of the first countries in the South East Asia area to receive the Cullinan Black Badge.”
Mr Grant said the Cullinan SUV had attracted many first time purchasers of Rolls Royce, especially in Australia.
Brand Manager, Andrew Jackson, 48, said Australia’s only Extended Wheelbase Phantom with Privacy Suite, was the flagship car.
“It’s 22cm longer in the rear and this particular car also has the privacy suite which gives you a partition wall (between the back and the front),” he said.
The vehicle also has a night vision camera massage seats, electronic footrests, an entertainment system, 1320 LED lights in the ceiling, and a refrigerated spot for drinks.
Hal Serudin, Corporate Communications Manager, said the $930,000 Cullinan Black Badge also has become popular with the 30-40 age group.
Mr Serudin, 50, said all of the luxury vehicles could be personalised with everything from the colour to interior bespoke artwork.
