Work has started on a $250m over 50s community north of Brisbane which will offer 380 houses and a range of leisure resort-style activities.

The first homes at Stockland’s at Halcyon Promenade at Burpengary East in Moreton Bay will be available by the middle of 2023 and there has been strong interest from local downsizers.

Stockland’s project director for Halcyon Promenade Andrew Astorquia said the level of luxury, quality and inclusions has not been seen before in an over-50s community so close to the northside of Brisbane.

“We have already had strong interest from local buyers with more than 50 homes already sold,” he said.

“It’s been very popular with locals who don’t want to leave the area and are excited about their next chapter at Halcyon Promenade.”

The community has been complemented by a dual fronted recreation and leisure precinct.

It will ultimately feature health club facilities including a 25m covered and heated magnesium salt pool with spa, gymnasium and circuit room, yoga lawn and art studio, and massage rooms.

It will also have a beauty salon, recreation club and lounge with a private dining area and outdoor kitchen overlooking the outdoor resort pool, pickleball courts, 3D golf simulator as well as a full-size flood lit bowling green.

There are currently eight established Halcyon communities in South East Queensland and another three under development in Queensland and one in Victoria.

Halcyon Promenade will be a six to seven-year project and Stockland will continue to hold it.

Mr Astorquia said the community has been designed to reflect Stockland’s commitment to sustainability and lowering the carbon footprint.

“Homes are designed with high quality materials including Hebel and steel and have energy reducing features such as triple insulation and solar power as standard,” he said.

“Our leisure facilities will be partially powered by solar, and our homeowners will also have access to a Tesla 3 electric vehicle as their shared community car.”
