Business is booming for a once-boutique law firm that has grown from four to 40 staff within four years.
Prospective growth means Sunshine Coast-born firm Travis Schultz and Partners has had to ask for occupancy of the entire premises of a building in Brisbane’s Adelaide St within six months of signing a lease for one floor.
Upon founding the compensation firm in 2018, Travis Schultz had fellow lawyers casting doubt over his low-fee business model without timesheets or time costing, but his unprecedented growth has proved a method to his madness.
He has big plans for the now four offices across the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Cairns.
“Post-pandemic, a key focus for us is attracting new team members who fit our culture,” Mr Schultz said.
“We are currently putting the finishing touches on a graduate program which will offer six to eight graduates the opportunity to hone their skills in an ‘un-corporate’ environment.
“The program is being carefully crafted to ensure our graduates will have the mentorship and professional development they need to excel in their career with the added bonus of a potential pathway to partnership in the medium term for the super talented and enthusiastic candidates.”
Mr Schultz will next month announce the appointment of three new partners to his firm.
Since his firm’s inception, Mr Schultz has looked to bring on board only lawyers who were already accredited specialists, or aspired to reach that level, and who shared his social justice values.
About 200 high profiles from the legal fraternity descended on Eagle Street on Wednesday night to celebrate the launch of Travis Schultz and Partners newly expanded Brisbane office.
