AUSTRALIAN-based TFE Hotels will take over management of the boutique luxury Gambaro Hotel.
The 68-room hotel over four levels on Caxton St in Petrie Terrace and is another property in the TFE Hotels Collection portfolio which includes The Calile on James St in Fortitude Valley which opens next year.
TFE Hotels chief executive Rachel Argaman said she was thrilled to add the five-star luxury property with a reputation for quality and luxury to the TFE Hotels Collection brand.
She said it marked a significant point in the enormous expansion TFE Hotels was embarking on in the next five years.
“This is an extraordinary hotel and we are really proud to add it to our collection, with its reputation for excellence and superior service,” she said.
“It marks the start of the expansion plans that will progress in 2017. We have 17 new hotels in the pipeline, such as the spectacular Adina Apartment Hotel which will open on the former Pentridge Prison site: an impressive castle-like building with an extraordinary history that has captured the nation’s imagination for centuries.
“We have just opened two new hotels in Nuremberg and Frankfurt, Germany, and will open new Adina Apartment Hotels in Fremantle, Sydney’s CBD and Macquarie Park, as well as a handful of others we are about to announce soon.
“We will also open four new Vibe Hotels, including one in Hobart and one in North Sydney.”
Gambaro Hotel was designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates and its classically understated and contemporary design has helped the venue gain significant praise from the press and accolades as a luxury offering since it opened in late May, 2014.
The legacy of its owners, the Gambaro family, began in 1953 when the late Giovanbaptista Gambaro moved to Australia from his hometown in Italy and created what later became one of Brisbane’s finest seafood restaurants on Caxton St in inner city Brisbane.
This soon grew to encompass the MG Bar and a 300-seat banquet style function centre, the newly opened Black Hide Steakhouse and, of course, the Gambaro Hotel.
While TFE Hotels will run the hotel component, the Gambaro family will continue to maintain the high tradition of running one of Brisbane’s finest bar, restaurant and function centres.
John Gambaro said the hotel’s new management would connect it to a sophisticated global distribution system and team of dedicated hoteliers with more than 50 years management experience.
“We are looking forward to leveraging TFE Hotels’ scale as a recognised hotel management company and brand, and its capabilities for national distribution, which will allow us to focus on what we do best, which is create exceptional restaurant experiences,” he said.
