Asahi Beverages sign 20-year precommitment for its Schweppes subsidiary to LOGOS’ Heathwood Logistics Estate

LOGISTICS real estate specialist LOGOS will develop a state-of-the-art, purpose built office/warehouse in Brisbane’s south to house Asahi Beverages’ Schweppes subsidiary.
The Japanese company has signed a 20-year lease for the 20,000sq m at the Heathwood Logistics Estate and will be the estate’s first occupant.
LOGOS acquired the Heathwood site in early 2016 and will handover Asahi’s to facility in
October 2017.
The facility also includes a future expansion area for a further 4500sq m of warehousing.
Asahi Beverages chief supply chain officer, Wayne Angus said: “We are delighted to announce that Asahi Beverages will be relocating its distribution centre in Queensland to the purpose-built Heathwood Logistics Estate.”
“As a major beverage company, we are excited by the opportunity to move into a highly efficient and well positioned distribution centre, which will enable us to better serve our customers.”
The Heathwood Logistics Estate is a 25ha development site and is directly along the Logan Motorway which links up to the Ipswich Motorway, Centenary Highway and the Gateway Motorway.
It can accommodate a further 110,000sq m of development for premium logistics and warehouse use and upon full build out the estates value is expected to be about $275 million.
LOGOS’ joint managing director, Trent Iliffe said: “Heathwood is one of Brisbane’s premier logistics precincts and our estate offers superior access on and off the Logan Motorway and is located around the centre of Brisbane’s retail distribution network.”
“Many of Australia’s largest retailers are located in the Heathwood precinct including Coles and Woolworths.”
