ONE of Australia’s leading domestic and international logistics companies has extended its commitment to the Port of Brisbane with extra hardstand thrown into the deal.

IPS Logistics has secured a 10-year lease extension across 60,288sq m of gross lettable area and developed an additional 10,000sq m hardstand at LOGOS’ property at the Port of Brisbane Logistics Hub on Bishop Drive.

The extension comes more than two years after LOGOS and Swiss firm Partners Group bought the site from IPS Logistics.

LOGOS head of Australia and New Zealand Darren Searle said the company actively works to support its customers growth strategies both within existing locations and across new geographies.

“We’re very pleased to be able to continue to support IPS Logistics as they grow their service offering at the Port of Brisbane Logistics Hub, providing them with a quality facility and new hardstand area that has immediate access to inbound logistics and Queensland’s key road infrastructure,” he added.

The commitments support IPS Logistics’ strong growth within Queensland as they look to position themselves to capture the growing demand for full container storage and hubbing at the Port.

A report commissioned last year by the Port of Brisbane found that following a 50 per cent increase in freight over the past 10 years, freight is expected to continue to experience significant expansion in the future.

IPS chief executive Darren Allen said the company is focused on containerised transport, warehousing and distribution activities for a wide range of imported and exported products across various sectors, location and access to key infrastructure was critical.

“Being located just a few hundred metres from the Stevedores, we offer our customers a safe cost effective service that is second to none,” he said.

“Our new hardstand capability means we can ensure quick turnaround for our transport partners and provide enough area to handle even the largest of our clients needs.

“Our lease extension and additional space commitment is a great milestone for IPS and we look forward to continuing our growth as a market leader in Port based supply chain solutions.”
