Laguna North Lakes developers appoint McNab to construct the multimillion-dollar mixed use precinct starting mid 2020

THE developers behind a multimillion-dollar mixed use precinct north of Brisbane has appointed a builder with work scheduled to start in the middle of next year.

Pointcorp and the George Group has appointed McNab to build Laguna North Lakes which is expected to open in 2022 and is set to employ up to 300 workers on site during peak

building times.

Designed by Richards and Spence, in collaboration Nettleton Tribe, the development on

North Lakes Drive will include 1.7ha of community space — a lagoon-style pool, high street shopping and dining scene, function, gym and wellness spaces, TRYP hotel by Wyndham and two-levels of basement carparking.

McNab’s Sunshine Coast construction manager Carl Nancarrow said the project will be major boost to local subcontractors.

“We are delighted that the developers are confident in our ability to bring their vision to life and deliver a great outcome for locals and visitors alike,” he said.

“This is a large-scale project requiring a significant amount of tradespeople which

provides a consistent workflow for our valued subcontractors — at all times we prioritise local employment, so it’s a great outcome for the local construction industry.”
