Two major Brisbane commercial property agencies have lost key members of their industrial teams as a wave of agents make the jump from the corporate world to private groups.
With the industrial sector the strongest segment in commercial property over the past few years many agents have left the big corporates and set up their own boutique agencies.
Recently JLL’s Brisbane industrial team has lost Freddie Donne and Ben Jeffries who have joined Modus Property Group which opened its doors in September last year.
Six months ago Nick Bandiera also left JLL’s industrial team and is a partner at the privately owned Modus with ex Cushman & Wakefield’s David Gibson and CBRE's Jack Pershouse.
Also, all three members of CBRE’s northern Brisbane industrial team have left.
Dan Munnich has gone after almost 11 years and joined industrial specialists CG Property Group which also recruited Cushman & Wakefield’s Bevan Galloway in February.
Sources say that as well as Mr Munnich, CBRE has also lost Hugh Adnam and Dillon Murphy who had been with the agency for three and eight years respectively.
They are currently on “gardening leave” with their destination yet to be confirmed.
Privately owned CG Property is headed by Michael Callow (ex Cushman & Wakefield) and Mark Gilbride (ex CBRE) who started the business in February 2023.
Mr Gibson said Modus Property is a specialised privately owned, industrial real-estate firm with a Queensland-based sales and leasing business and a Sydney-based national investments business.
“We are very excited about both Freddie and Ben as they have longstanding relationships and exceptional track records in their respective markets,” he said.
“The addition of both operators adds great experience to our platform, providing an even greater reach for our clients across the Queensland market.”
Also, industrial stalwart Ryan Bennett has left Blue Commercial after nine years and joined Barber Property Group as a director/business owner. Blue Commercial colleague Christopher Hefferan has also joined Barber as a director.
The Paddington-based boutique developer has completed over $250m worth of projects in South East Queensland over the past 30 years and has a pipeline worth more than $40m.
