Presto Pizza and Pasta in liquidation with $90k debts

A long-standing eatery nestled in South Bank Parklands has been put under the control of a liquidator, with two banks and the tax office among its creditors.

A POPULAR South Bank pizza and pasta eatery has been put in liquidation with debts totalling about $90,000.

Presto Pizza & Pasta, an Italian eatery nestled in the strip of shops within the South Bank Parklands, was put under the control of liquidators on January 20.

Seven creditors of the company are owed $90,615.

A $36,000 loan with Commonwealth Bank is the largest amount owed while an ANZ credit card has $25,000 owing.

At $10,000, the Australian Taxation Office is among smaller creditors listed.

In 2018 Presto Pizza & Pasta was described by Eat South Bank as the parklands’ “most loved and affordable Italian secret”.

It is understood the shop has closed.

The company’s Facebook page and telephone have been disabled and the pizza place is listed online as “permanently closed”.

Worrells’ partner Michael Griffin was appointed liquidator to Kartalim Pty Ltd, trading as Presto Pizza & Pasta.

A report on the company said it had no assets.

In December dozens of businesses were placed into liquidation.
