FIRST it was the pressure of Boxing Day sales, now Myer has officially closed its website to shoppers, until it can resolve technical problems.
The myer.com.au website is still not active for any shoppers across Australia today, after the department store admitted they were still experiencing "issues with their website".
In an announcement to their Facebook followers, Myer said they would also be extending their trading hours in store to allow shoppers to purchase items there instead of online.
Today, at around noon, the store posted this message on Facebook, saying: "We're continuing to experience significant issues with our website, and as a result we will not be activating the site for customers until we are confident the issues have been resolved.
"A team of technicians are working around the clock to rectify the issues, however myer.com.au is now closed until further notice."
In response to concerns that the website glitch would affect the store being able to honour Myer's Launch Day Online Stocktake Sale Offers, the Facebook post said there would be no change.
"Many of you have asked if we'll be honouring our Launch Day Online Stocktake Sale Offers - the answer is yes! Once the site is stable and we're confident you'll be able to shop online, we will reintroduce the One Day Offers. We'll provide you all with more information about this once the site is up and running.
"In the meantime, our Stocktake Sale is running in our 67 Myer stores until 27 January and all stores have extended trading hours to make it easier for you to shop in store.
We'll be posting a link to our store trading hours soon."
The store also apologised to shoppers for the inconvenience caused.
"We hope you enjoy the rest of the festive season and will be sure to update you when the site is ready to go again," they said.
The site's temporary deactivation comes after the demand for Boxing Day deals proved too much for Myer's website, which was repeatedly crashing for customers who left their complaints on social media yesterday.
Users have been posting about their experiences on Twitter and Facebook.

On Facebook, customers praised them for honouring their specials.
Litsa Spiropoulos posted: "Well done Myer for honouring the specials!"
Others were still understanding, but said they were in a difficult position to be able to purchase in store.
Shannon Hamilton posted: "Hope you get it up and running again, our closest store is 8 hours away."
On Twitter, other shoppers were less than impressed.
Disappointed that the @Myer_MyStore website is still down.. Waiting waiting!
