Australian dollar higher following US growth figures

THE Australian dollar is higher despite better-than-expected economic growth figures out of the US.

THE Australian dollar is higher despite better-than-expected economic growth figures out of the US.

At 0630 AEDT on Monday, the local currency was trading at 78.16 US cents, up from 78.03 cents on Friday.

The official estimate of US growth in the December quarter was revised to 2.2 per cent from the initial estimate of 2.6 per cent, better than the 2.1 per cent analysts expected.
