THE Australian dollar is almost level after strong US economic data and weak German jobs figures pulled the currency in opposite directions.
At 0630 AEST on Friday, the local dollar was trading at 93.56 US cents, slightly up from 93.54 cents on Thursday.
Data out overnight showed the US economy grew at a brisk annual rate of 4.2 per cent in the April-June quarter.
However, the unemployment rate in Germany stayed steady at 6.7 per cent in August, adding to concerns over Europe’s largest economy.
