HOW often do you get the D?
A Canadian government agency has been left red-faced by a poorly worded advertising campaign encouraging people to supplement their vitamin D intake.
In a series of posters that were clearly not proofread by anybody under the age of 30, Yukon Health and Social Services came up with lines such as: “We all need the D. Even Me!”, “How do you do the D?”, “Need a little help with your daily D?”, and “I’m in my 30s, who knew I needed to do the D?”
In case you need it explained, the common slang term “the D” means “the d***”, and not the essential vitamin needed for bone growth that is produced by the human skin when exposed to sunlight.
Yukon Health and Social Services quickly removed all traces of the campaign from its website after BuzzFeed Canada and a number of Twitter pointed out the unintentionally hilarious posters.
But at least it got people talking about the D.
Oh, Yukon, you beautiful weirdo. "We all need the D." https://t.co/mGxQFf1IDy

A D a day keeps the doctor away. This just can't be a real #publichealth campaign, right? #yukon #IneedtheD pic.twitter.com/XG9zODsenK
