The Eras Tour is shaping up to be a giant catwalk of Swift-inspired fashion as fans create or buy outfits to wear to her seven concerts.
Retailers have pounced on the opportunity to cash in on Taylor fever, with Just Group chain Dotti rolling out their Girls On Tour collection ahead of the tour kick-off on February 16.
One of the most popular items are metallic cowboy boots for under $100, with Dotti group general manager Deanna Moylan saying that the whole range is selling out fast.
“By far shopping for Taylor Swift concert looks is what our customers are looking for right now,” Ms Moylan said.
She added that love heart sunglasses ($19.95) and cowboy hats ($29.95) have been flying off shelves, while the Pink Love Tulle Mini Dress — perfect for all your Loverera needs — sold out within 24 hours online and in less than two days in store.
“Our customers are loving anything that sparkles and shimmers,” Ms Moylan said.
The label are rushing to restock Melbourne’s Chadstone and Sydney Westfields malls with the in-demand mini dress.
Glassons is also winning Swifty foot traffic with a sequin halter top and mini skirt selling out in less than five minutes last month.
For those who don’t know where to start, NCA reporter Madeleine Achenza has done all the hard work, testing potential Eras Tour outfits from Sportsgirl, Glassons and H&M.
Cowboy boots are a must, she reports, with the Glassons $99 metallic silver boots “so comfortable” it’s “worth the splurge”.
H&M, while not having a specific Eras Tour range, have sequin pants for sale as well as boho skirts and maxi dresses to cover all bases for those wanting to channel the look of Swift’s self-titled debut album.
The more crafty Swifties have opted to create their own outfits, prompting Spotlight to launch a “Get Concert Ready” campaign.
Spotlight staff have reported they “cannot physically restock tinsel, glitter and beads fast enough” to meet the demand.
Spotlight Head of Marketing Padma Palani said their project sheets and Taylor Swift inspired “hows to’s” have been particularly popular, with the Tinsel Fringe Jacket and accessories projects leading the pack.
Bead kits have also been a favourite, with online searches for kits increasing by 34 per cent since November.
“Many of our Spotlight stores have been enjoying getting the stores ready to shop … we’ve been having just as much fun as our customers!” she said.
