GINA Rinehart’s Roy Hill iron ore mine has been issued two prohibition notices over safety concerns.
Western Australia’s Department of Mines and Petroleum issued the notices after several serious incidents at the site in the past 12 months.
Mines safety director Andrew Chaplyn said while no workers were injured in the incidents, which involved cranes and elevated working platforms, they raised serious safety concerns.
Specialist safety inspectors will visit Roy Hill this month to audit the management systems.
Mr Chaplyn said Roy Hill management were co-operating with the department.
