2016 teaser for iconic Australia Day lamb ad has arrived

YEAR after year, we’ve been treated to an epic new Australia Day lamb ad.

From Sam Kekovich’s ‘Address to the Nation’ series to last year’s brilliant video featuring Richie Benaud, the series has become an iconic part of our TV screens. Mainly because they’re bloody hilarious.

Now, we’re all speculating over who might feature in the next one.

The creators behind the Australia Day lamb ad have given us a sneak preview at what’s in store. While the finer details are under wraps, the production value looks pretty damn epic.

The video appears to show a bunch of Aussies overseas - on business trips, at the pub after a hard day, or on vacation - rather than being in the country for Australia Day. The scene then cuts to a dramatic police operation, with a bunch of guys in uniform setting out on a mission called ‘Operation Boomerang’, presumably to bring them home.

We’ve been promised the full ad will feature five famous, much-loved Aussie favourites, but they’re keeping a firm hold on the details.

So with that in mind... let the speculation begin! Which Aussie stars do you think will make an appearance this year? Chris Hemsworth? Gemma Ward? Maybe even ... *shudders* ... Iggy Azalea? Let us know in the comments.
