A leading commercial vehicle business will establish a new home for its truck sales, service and parts division in a growing business park in Brisbane’s booming south western corridor.
Brisbane Isuzu has purchased a 3ha site for between $6m and $7m at Walker Corporation’s Citiswich Business Park in Bundamba for a new multimillion-dollar facility with construction expected to start next year.
More than 100 jobs are expected to be created during construction and about 45 jobs when the facility is completed.
Brisbane Isuzu managing director Alan Newcombe said they searched for some time for the right site to expand their southeast Queensland operations.
“You would be hard pressed to find a better positioned business park than Citiswich,” he said.
“It has a 350m frontage alongside the Warrego Highway providing close access for trucks to the Warrego, Cunningham Highways and Ipswich Motorway.”
Isuzu will join a number of other industries in business park including aerospace, defence, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, transport and logistics.
Walker Corporation development manager Todd Martindale said a diverse range of corporate businesses were seeking to buy land at the business park.
“Confidence jumps every time businesses like Brisbane Isuzu invest in Citiswich,” he said.
“This year as seen an unprecedented uplift in activity on previous years as corporate businesses, such as Brisbane Isuzu, and other industrial funds groups, strategically position themselves on the best available sites.”
Colliers International’s Matthew Frazer-Ryan introduced Brisbane Isuzu to the fully serviced, cleared and level site.
“On the back of current requirements, we believe the industrial and logistics leasing and
sales markets will keep gathering momentum into 2021,” he said.
“We are seeing significant levels of infrastructure investment and huge growth of e-commerce and businesses consolidating into properties that are more efficient.”
