A senior Queensland police officer has been arrested and charged with 11 counts of child abuse in the north coast region.
The 39-year-old man was arrested and charged with eight counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 and two counts of involving a child in making child exploitation material.
He was also charged with one count of possessing child exploitation material.
The constable was taken to the Maroochydore Watchhouse where he was charged.
The man has since been suspended from duty and released on bail.
The officer will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Friday April 29, 2022.
