More NSW areas could be deemed coronavirus hot spots today, Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has said.
Speaking at the new Baringa State Secondary College on Tuesday morning, Ms Palaszczuk said there was a possibility more hot spots could be declared, but she did not want to pre-empt anything.
“I’m waiting to listen to what NSW have to say,” she said.
“We are waiting to see what happens in NSW today and we are getting ready to declare further hot spots, we will not hesitate to do so to keep Queenslanders safe.”

The border communities of Tweed Heads and Coolangatta remain a priority of concern for the Queensland premier, who confirmed she had sent a letter to her NSW counterpart, Gladys Berejiklian, and was awaiting a response.
“This is purely trying to make things reasonable, and ensuring continuity between the border communities,” she said.
“It’s now up to the NSW premier. The comments she made yesterday makes it seem like she doesn’t want to accept, but I’m just trying to make it easier for people living in those communities.”
