Police and emergency rush to light aircraft crash in rural Victoria

Police and emergency services are at the scene of a light aircraft crash in the remote Victorian outback.

Emergency services are treating one man after a light plane crash in the Victorian countryside.

Victoria Police said an aircraft took off from Porepunkah, in the state’s north east, at about 4:40am on Wednesday, before crashing into trees at the Mount Buffalo area.

They said a male pilot, believed to be the sole occupant of the aircraft, was being treated at the scene.

“Paramedics are on the scene treating one patient,” the spokesperson said.

They said air medical services were also at the scene.
