A 22-year-old man has been arrested following three separate kidnappings in Sydney over the past two years.
Strike force detectives and intelligence squads arrested the man and raided his home at Regents Park in Sydney at 6am Wednesday.
His arrest follows an alleged attack on a 30-year-old man in March last year by a group of men at a home in Punchbowl in Sydney’s southwest. The man was then dragged onto the street and forced into a van.
The man returned to his home and did not need medical attention.
Following the kidnapping, detectives launched “Strike Force Pepis” to investigate the attack and found alleged links between the incident and other acts of violence, including the alleged kidnapping of a man at Dundas Valley in 2020 and another kidnapping at San Souci in 2021.
The 22-year-old remains in police custody.
Police are expected to address the media on Wednesday afternoon.
More to come.
