More charged after Qld woman allegedly ambushed, tied up and tortured by group

Two more people have been charged after a Queensland woman was allegedly tied up and tortured by a group of people earlier this month.

More people have been charged over the alleged violent kidnapping of a woman who police say was tied up, assaulted and tortured south of Brisbane.

Tara Maree Quayle and Wanita Josephine Cartwright are both facing serious charges, including torture and deprivation of liberty, over the alleged incident earlier this month.

Police allege the victim, 27, was ambushed by a group of people before she was tied up, assaulted and tortured.

Two more people, Joseph Keith Cutmore and Courtney Elizabeth McCreath, have also been charged.

Ms Quayle and Mr Cutmore did not appear when their matters were briefly mentioned at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The court was told Ms Quayle was facing an additional charge of possessing amphetamines in addition to her current charges of torture, deprivation of liberty and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Her lawyer Zynal Khan asked for a full brief of evidence to seek further instructions.

Mr Cutmore is facing 14 charges, including torture, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning

actual bodily harm while in company, robbery and common assault.

His lawyer Terry Strong did not apply for bail when asking for an adjournment.

Magistrate Andy Cridland adjourned both matters to August 11.

Police allege the female victim was ambushed by the group when she attended a Goodna address on June 6.

It is alleged she was tied up, assaulted and tortured before being moved between several addresses where the alleged attacks continued.
