Mother of six Gabrielle Soltan, who died in a horrific car crash, has been remembered by her loved ones as a “bright star”.
The 32-year-old Brisbane woman was killed in a car accident on the Stuart Highway near Tennant Creek in outback Northern Territory late last week.
Two of the three passengers (including Ms Soltan and a 44-year-old man) who were travelling in the car at the time were thrown from the vehicle.
The third person – a 32-year-old man – was rushed to hospital.
Ms Soltan’s sister-in-law Jazinda Oshea said she hadn’t stopped crying since finding out about Ms Soltan’s death almost a week ago.
“I haven’t stopped and I don’t think I will stop crying,” she said.
“We are all devastated to lose such a bright star.
“She was everything all rolled up into a beautiful person.”
Ms Soltan leaves behind her six young children Lilly, Stevie, Keeley, Amelia, Harper and Armani.
“How do we tell Keeley and Milly you are gone. I can’t even tell myself you are gone,” Ms Oshea said.
“Lilly, Stevie, Keeley, Amelia, Harper & Armani will forever be without their mother.”
Ms Oshea has started a GoFundMe page to help pay for Ms Soltan’s funeral costs, with the overall goal set at $5000. So far, just over $1500 has been raised.
“We need help to give her the send off she needs,” Ms Oshea said.
“All money will go to Sharlene to help with the funeral costs. Please give what you can at this horrible time.
“The world will not be the same without her.”
It is uncertain what caused the car to crash, with local police and detectives from the major crash unit investigating.
“We are appealing for any witnesses who were travelling on the Stuart Highway north of Tennant Creek who saw a blue Mitsubishi Triton utility with interstate registration to contact police,” Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said.
