Vital stats to lab results and medications: Read Donald Trump’s full medical report
Donald Trump may be the oldest man to be elected president of the United States, but he is of “robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and general physical function” and “fully fit” to serve as commander in chief.
That’s according to his physician, US Navy captain Sean Barbabella, who performed the 78-year-old’s annual physical examination last week. The three-page summary of results was released by the White House overnight.
Trump has practised a “lifelong abstinence from tobacco and alcohol”, and, despite being a notorious lover of Big Macs, is nine kilograms lighter than at his 2020 physical exam. From scarring to his right ear due to a gunshot wound – confirming July’s assassination attempt – to a 62 beats-per-minute resting heart rate that could be attributed to his “frequent victories in golf events”, here are the results of Trump’s 2025 physical exam.
“I think I did very well,” Trump told reporters while travelling from the hospital in Maryland to Florida aboard Air Force One.
He also said he had “a good heart, a good soul, a very good soul” – while the medical examination is comprehensive, the jury is still out on that one.
The examination also covers mental capacity, with Trump correctly telling reporters he “got every answer right” on the cognitive test.
Once again, Trump passed a Montreal Cognitive Assessment test, which is a short screening to assess different brain functions and includes remembering a list of spoken words and repeating a list of random numbers backwards, among other prompts. Barbabella said in his report that Trump had scored 30 out of 30.
