Live: Bulldogs v Sea Eagles

That's it from me, thanks for joining the blog. For all the news from press conferences and sheds check out the reports from Brad Walter and Glenn Jackson in the Sydney Morning Herald tomorrow and online at League HQ.

80 min: It's all over. Manly win it 12-10. The Sea Eagles get to the take the Grudge Trophy back over the Harbour Bridge. That was an absorbing and tough match.

79 min: Maybe not. Kasiano spills the ball on his own 30. Manly get a scrum.

77 min: Try. Dogs get the ball back from kick-off, a cross-kick from Keating and Goodwin's in the corner. Goodwin drains the conversion from the sideline. Manly 12-10. Dragons did it on Wednesday, could Dogs do the same here?

75 min: Try. Gorgeous George Rose, looking like a desert storm army tent on the move, takes on the line, puts on a step, pops the ball out to Matai and it's a try. Lyon converts. Manly 12-4.

74 min: A DCE bomb is fumbled, it bounces back to Watmough 2m out but somehow Halatau and Graham hold him out. Dogs knock-on ruled so it's a drop-out

69 min: Lyon is the luckiest bloke at ANZ, he watches a grubber into the in-goal and waits for it to go dead, and watches, and watches and waits and a rampaging Goodwin gets there but it bobbles away. After the video ref looks and looks and looks it's no try.

68 min: Jamie the headgear Buhrer, does a bit of dakking work on Morris, but he covers up quickly

66 min: Ennis tries to hit a rampaging Frankie Pritchard 5m out, but the ball goes bouncing off his shoulder - pressure off for Sea Eagles.

64 min: Reynolds hits a 40/20 for Dogs. Great chance here.

62 min: BStewart nearly does it again, throws a dummy 20m out and puts on the afterburners, but great tackle from Stagg forces a wayward pass from Stewart.

61 min: Williams fumbles a bomb, but Manly get a penalty after Lyon pushed in the back

58 min: This has been a tough, tough game - everything you'd expect from a grudge match. Next try could go a big way in deciding the winner.

56 min: Nice combination from the Dogs in attack leads to a good bust by Morris, but no pressure on last on kick to Taufua and he takes it easily - maybe he had some Tarzan Grip put on his hands at half-time.

54 min: Ennis drops ball on halfway, Manly scrum and DCE runs into Pritchard - not a great move as Frankie ragdolls him.

50 min: Kasiano is pulled up 1m short and then Goodwin takes a bomb, but the Wolfman gets WWE on him and cartwheels him into touch.

48 min: The other Foran's grubber goes dead and Dogs get the ball back. Steve Turner is down injured - looks like a knee injury unfortunately. Turner off.

46 min: Wow! G Stewart absolutely levels the aptly-named Payne with a massive shot. Manly get the ball 15m out.

43m : Try. The try-magnet B Stewart does it again. From the drop-out Manly go on the attack, 10m out, Stewart uses his evasive skills, dummies and spins and is thrown over the line by the defence. Lyon misses the conversion. Manly 6-4.

42 min: Some more kooky bounces of the ball saves the Dogs. Barba lets a DCE bomb bounce, but none of the Manly followers can get near it and it ends up back in the hands of Barba whose tackled in goal.

41 min: And we're away for the second half with DCE kicking off.

Here's Brad Walter's take on the first 40mins: "The Bulldogs have had all the ball and field position, and have looked the better team but Des Hasler must be concerned they are only leading 4-2 at halftime. Don't be surprised if all that extra defensive work takes its toll on Manly in the second half."

Dogs dominated the half, but only lead by 2. Manly toughed it out and their attack was getting some form towards the end of the half. Time to break out the oranges.

40 min: Kasiano drops the ball, and then Manly earn a penalty 20m out. Lyon decides to take the kick and it's good. Dogs 4-2 at half-time.

39 min: Another great play from Reynolds - Manly make 62m in attack - and on the last DCE gets ready to grubber but Reynolds taps his leg and it's an airswing.

36 min: This times it's brilliant defence from the Dogs. Manly get another penalty 5m out, but make negative 5m in five tackles and it's turned over to the Dogs. Good set from the Dogs and Reynolds, who's having a busy game, finds touch on the last with a nice down-field kick. Scrum 15m out from Manly line.

34 min: Williams takes an intercept and makes a half break 30m out from own line. THen a penalty to the Sea Eagles - all their hard defensive work could pay off here. They'll be right on the attack.

30 min: Manly battling away hard here. Dogs have had all the field position but can't take advantage.

24 min: Taufua finally gets a lucky break, out of position and kick to his wing and Turner is wide open - but the bounce of the ball is a stinker for Turner and it's into touch in goal.

23 min: Taufua spills the ball for the third times this half - he might be getting the Sir Alex Ferguson hair dryer treatment from Toovey at halftime. Dogs on the attack from 20m out.

21 min: Some back and forth between the two 20m lines. Anyone else think the Manly players look like they've spilt chocolate and caramel milk on their outfits?

18 min: B Stewart falling in tackle and cops an accidental elbow from Ennis as he's falling. Bit of treatment but he's up and okay.

16 min: Lyon puts through grubber that's spilled near the tryline, Lyon and B Stewart both go for the ball with no Dogs around but they spoil each other and both knock-on. Big miss there for the Sea Eagles.

15 min: Goodwin takes a DCE bomb and is hit in a Manly defensive sandwich. Adventurous pass from Barba to Morris goes forward. Manly on attack in decent field position.

12 min: Manly survive more pressure from Dogs after King spills the ball. Taufua takes an Ennis kick in-goal and it's back to the 20m

9 min: Dogs can't capitalise on piggy back penalties and Turner is bundled into touch. Manly dodged a bullet there, maybe there camo jumpers are working.

7 min: Matai penalised rushing out of defensive line, then chats back and marched 10m. Dogs will go on attack 20m out.

4 min: Try. Barba cuts the Manly defence to ribbons, makes a break from 55m out, throws a couple of dummies, couple of steps and he uses his blistering pace to score. Turner misses conversion from out wide. Dogs 4-0

2 min: Manly hold firm, with Cherry-Evans picking up the scraps after a last-tackle chip.

1 min: Crripes! the worst start for Manly Taufua spills the kick-off. Dogs will go straight on the attack 10m out.

Worldwide interest in this match - just got a text from a league fan who's is reading the blog in Phuket - good work fella.

The Sea Eagles are wearing their camo outfit tonight - hopefully for their fans they won't be MIA.

Preamble: With Kieran Foran being ruled out, his brother Liam comes off the bench into five-eighth. There's a couple of other changes for the Sea Eagles with Jamie Buherer moving back to the bench for Daniel Harrison. Buhrer will be joined on the pine by Galuvao, Mauro and late inclusion George Rose. For the Bulldogs, David Stagg has gone to the bench with Greg Eastwood starting.

2012 - the season of the grudge match. We've already had the Benny Bash (Knights v Dragons twice) and the Moltzen Mash (Tigers v Dragons), but tonight it's the granddaddy of them all when Des Hasler, his hairdo and his Bulldogs take on the Sea Eagles.

The recriminations are still being felt after Hasler's defection to the Bulldogs after leading the Sea Eagles to last season's premiership. Not least the tug-o-war over Kieran Foran's services. Unfortunately we won't be seeing the five-eighth tonight, as he's been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

But grudge match, schmudge match. It's more of a grunge match for mine. Ever noticed the similarity between Dessie and Kurt Cobain? I'm sure there's an internet conspiracy that Cobain isn't dead, and is in fact the Bulldogs coach. Ever see them in the same room? Theory proved.

Which brings us to tonight's pre-match entertainment - Kurt (or Dessie) with Kris and Dave playing the song the bouncers at Manly Leagues Club sang to Des when he tried to collect his 2011 Grand Final clipboard from the front office in January- Stay Away.
