A pedestrian has died after being hit by a train at a level crossing in Brisbane's north this morning.
Police have confirmed the male pedestrian, believed to be aged in his 30s, was struck by the train at the level crossing on Newman Road, Geebung, about 7.05am.
One police source said witnesses who raised the alarm saw the man "flying through the air".
Commuters faced delays of one hour as all services on the Caboolture and Sunshine Coast lines were stopped.
Normal inbound and outbound services did not resume until 11am.
After reviewing CCTV footage at the scene, police said the incident was accidental.
"It appears the man has darted across the crossing," a police spokeswoman said.
