The ACT Emergency Services agency received more than 20 call-outs across the Canberra region during a storm on Friday night, but none were for major incidents, an ESA spokeswoman said on Saturday morning.
Canberra received 41.2mm of rain between 8.30pm Friday and 2am Saturday, and experienced some brief thunder and lightning.
The storm followed a severe weather warning which was issued for Canberra and surrounds earlier on Friday evening, warning of heavy rain and the possibility of flash flooding in the area.
People were advised to keep clear of creeks and storm drains, not to cross stormwater, stay indoors and away from windows and avoid using the phone while there is thunder and lighting.
For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132 500.
