By Rebecca Peppiatt

A 61-year-old Albany woman has been arrested and charged with the sexual abuse of a young boy she cared for in the 1990s.

WA Police released a statement alleging the woman committed the offences while she ran a family day care in the Albany suburb of Yakamia.

They say the abuse relates to a boy aged four and five years old at the time and the woman was in her 30s.

“At the time of the offences, the woman was aged in her 30s, and ran a family day care centre out of her home,” police said.

“It will be alleged she committed three sexually based offences against a male child who was aged
between 4 and 5 years at the time.”
