Not-so-smooth criminals ram-raid Bunbury shop for no apparent reason

By Emma Young

A ram-raid extensively damaged a convenience and tobacco store in Bunbury on Monday night, with the two alleged offenders fleeing the scene without stealing anything.

About 10.40pm, the four-door hatchback reversed through the roller door on Arthur Street then simply drove straight back out.

The crooks reversed into the shop, but fled immediately – and empty-handed.

As inquiries continue, detectives have released vision of a second vehicle seen in the area at the time of the incident – a white, two-door tray-back ute – and a person who may be able to assist with inquiries.

Anyone with information in relation to the incident, or who recognises the vehicle pictured, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online via www.crimestopperswa.com.au, anonymously if they wish.
