Three people died in a fiery plane crash east of Melbourne on Saturday evening.
A small plane crashed into a paddock near the Heyfield-Upper Maffra Road in Tinamba West about 5.45pm.
Witnesses reported seeing the plane circling the area before it crashed and burst into flames, police said.
The pilot and two passengers, who are yet to be formally identified, died at the scene. They were the only occupants onboard.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
