WorkSafe is investigating after a woman died in an all-terrain vehicle accident near Daylesford on Saturday.
Marketing executive Lisa Ronson lost control of the vehicle she was riding and it rolled over and crashed on a private property on Clunes-Daylesford Road in Ullina on Saturday evening.
Police said emergency services were called to the property at about 7pm, but the 52-year-old woman could not be revived.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner and WorkSafe confirmed on Sunday it would be looking at the accident.
“WorkSafe is investigating,” a spokeswoman said.
All-terrain vehicles, also known as quad bikes, have been the target of surveillance by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, and been the subject of past coronial inquests due to the number of farm accidents in which they are involved.
Ronson was appointed the chief marketing officer for Medibank in July and had a high profile in the marketing industry. She was also an adjunct professor at Deakin University and a board member of Wheelchair Rugby Australia.
Medibank chief executive David Koczkar said Ronson’s death left those at Medibank heartbroken.
“We are devastated by the news of Lisa’s passing,” Koczkar said.
“Lisa was a brilliant, loved, and much respected member of our team at Medibank.
“Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this very difficult time.”
