By Jocelyn Garcia
A woman initially believed to be the victim of an assault on the Gold Coast had actually suffered a seizure, police confirmed on Sunday.
Paramedics, including a critical care response unit, were called to Robina Town Centre Drive in Robina just before 8pm on Friday.
Paramedics alerted police to the possible assault of a woman on the Gold Coast.
Paramedics initally thought the woman had been bashed but on Sunday afternoon police said she had suffered a seizure and hit her head.
The woman was treated for a head injury and taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
Police were called to the scene by the Queensland Ambulance Service because paramedics believed she had been assaulted.
