By Toby Crockford

A woman has died in hospital after she was found at a Gold Coast home with a gunshot wound and police are questioning a man as part of the homicide investigation.

Emergency services were called to the residence on Renfrew Drive in Highland Park about 8.30pm on Sunday following reports a woman had been shot in the abdomen.

The 27-year-old woman, from the Gold Coast suburb of Labrador, was treated at the scene by specialist critical care paramedics.

She was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital, but died soon after arriving.

On Monday morning, a man was assisting with detectives' inquiries, but had not been arrested.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw anything suspicious on Renfrew Drive and Kincaid Drive or who has security camera or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
