Three Brisbane homes gutted in ‘suspicious’ inferno

By Toby Crockford

Three houses were engulfed in flames early on Sunday in Brisbane’s north, in what police have described as a “suspicious” blaze.

The suburban street has been declared a crime scene as police and fire investigators work to determine the cause of the inferno.

Emergency services were called to Gore Street in Albion just after 2.30am to find the three houses ablaze. Two were residential homes and the third was a house converted into a dance studio.

Firefighters worked to suppress the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighbouring homes.

All occupants from the houses were accounted for, assessed by paramedics and found to have not suffered any injuries.

Gore Street remained a crime scene on Sunday afternoon as fire investigators waited for the wrecked buildings to cool down so they could get inside and examine the scene.

Anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area before the fire should contact Policelink on 13 14 44 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
