Teenagers allegedly involved in the stabbing of a girl in Fortitude Valley in inner Brisbane on Monday afternoon remain on the run.

Emergency services were called to Alfred Street in Fortitude Valley about 1.45pm after the girl suffered life-threatening injuries in an altercation involving a number of other teens.

Paramedics rushed the girl to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital as police cordoned off a crime scene near the Fortitude Valley train station.

She was taken to hospital with back injuries, the Queensland Ambulance Service said.

Initial reports suggested the victim was involved in an altercation with a group of girls who ran from the scene.

It was understood the group knew each other, but the others allegedly involved were still at large on Monday evening.

On Tuesday, police were still yet to arrest anyone over the incident. The girl remained in hospital undergoing treatment.
