Search resumes for missing rider from jet ski drifting off Gold Coast
An extensive air and sea search continues for a missing man after the jet ski he was riding was found drifting off the Gold Coast at the weekend.
The jet ski was found by another passing vessel about 13 kilometres east of the Southport Seaway just after 1.30pm on Sunday.
Police soon found a vehicle and trailer still parked at the Main Beach boat ramp and have traced the jet ski, vehicle and trailer to a 54-year-old Labrador man.
Volunteer Marine Rescue, Queensland Police Service, Surf Life Saving Queensland, Queensland Government Air and the Coastguard were all involved in the search, which was launched on Sunday.
It was suspended at 1am on Monday before resuming at 5am.
On Monday, similar resources were called upon once again, with the addition of PolAir, an SLSQ helicopter and a plane from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
The missing man was wearing a life jacket, according to Nine News.
