Probe continues after crime scene declared at site of blaze
Police investigations are continuing into the cause of a dramatic fire in Brisbane this week.
A business on Boothby Street in Kedron went up in flames just before 4pm on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to the scene, with firefighters controlling the blaze within an hour.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was taken to The Prince Charles Hospital, before being discharged that evening.
Queensland Police told Brisbane Times on Saturday it remained unclear what started the fire.
“The cause is undetermined at this stage,” they said. “Investigations are continuing.”
“A crime scene was declared at the time to preserve the scene in preparation for fire investigators.”
Smoke could be seen across Kedron and a safety warning was issued that afternoon for all nearby residents to stay indoors and close their windows.
The warning was revoked about 9.30pm.
