By Sean Parnell

The USS America, the largest amphibious assault carrier in the 7th Fleet, entered the Port of Brisbane on Tuesday afternoon for a brief stopover.

The 257-metre-long vessel, with F-35 Joint Strike Fighters and other aircraft on board, is in Australian waters to take part in the bilateral combined military training event Exercise Talisman Sabre.
