An aircraft reported to be a helicopter or gyrocopter has crashed near a camping area on K’gari, formerly known as Fraser Island.
Queensland Ambulance says the light aircraft came down in an isolated area near Moon Point camping ground just after noon on Friday.
The camp area is on the north-west of the island, and only accessible to visitors by boat.

A rescue helicopter and paramedic unit were rushing to the scene on Friday afternoon.
One patient was reportedly injured, but was conscious and alert.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman referred to the aircraft as a helicopter, but other reports suggested it could be a smaller gyrocopter.
