Police are now unsure if a missing girl who reportedly vanished after being dropped off for a flight ever made it to the airport.

Pheobe Bishop failed to check in for her journey from Bundaberg to Western Australia about 8.30am on May 15.

Investigators believe the disappearance is suspicious, and on Wednesday declared her home in the nearby township of Gin Gin a crime scene.

A grey Hyundai ix35 SUV belonging to Bishop or one of her housemates has also been seized.

Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson revealed on Wednesday afternoon the 17-year-old girl was not living with her “direct family” at the time of her disappearance.

Two people with whom she shares a home – who remain unidentified – have spoken to police. Initial reports suggested the pair took Bishop to the airport.

Thompson revealed investigators are still exploring whether that happened.

“We’re currently appealing for information as to where she was last seen,” he said.

“Police are continuing to ask the public for their assistance in relation to the movements of a grey Hyundai.”

Police have scoured CCTV and are confident she never entered the airport terminal, however they are still calling for any footage taken that morning at nearby Airport Drive and Samuels Road.

Forensic teams and other police descended on the home in Gin Gin on Wednesday afternoon, footage from Nine News Queensland shows.

A relative said Bishop’s family had put up more than 400 missing person posters across the region since she disappeared.

“My heart is breaking, and so are those of her siblings, her family and our friends,” she posted to social media on Sunday.

Bishop is about 180 centimetres tall, with a pale complexion, long dyed-red hair, and hazel eyes.

She was last seen carrying luggage and wearing a green tank top and grey sweatpants.

“We are lost at what to do next, and people keep asking has she run away. If you knew Pheobe, you would know that she is free spirited and loves hard!” the family member’s post read.

“She is loyal to the core and cut-throat. She would never leave her family.”

Anyone with dashcam and CCTV footage near the airport is urged to contact police.
