That's a wrap for today's Brisbane Times coronavirus blog for the week. Stick with us over the weekend to keep up-to-date with what you need to know.
Here's a recap of today's major developments:
- Queenslanders will be able to go out for dinner and a drink again this weekend! (From 11.59 tonight, to be exact, but we're not sure how many places will be reopening at that hour)
- From 11.59pm, we will be able to gather in groups of 10 or fewer.
- A worrying development in Rockhampton, with an aged care nurse testing positive for COVID-19 in a case that has Queensland health authorities worried. The nurse had worked at the North Rockhampton Nursing Centre while unwell.
- We had two new cases added to Queensland's tally today, including the Rockhampton nurse. The other case was a Queenslander diagnosed in WA.
- Prime Minister Scott Morrison has committed $48 million for mental health and announced a resumption of elective surgery.
Have a great weekend - and treat your newfound freedoms with respect! We don't want to go backwards.
