That's a wrap for today's Brisbane Times COVID-19 blog. We'll be back to bring you the latest developments tomorrow.
Here's a recap of what happened today:
- Another day of no new cases in Queensland, so our cumulative total remains at 1058. Of those, 1045 have recovered and seven have died. There remains just six known active COVID-19 cases in Queensland.
- Nationally, 7150 have been infected, of whom 6566 have recovered and 103 have died. There remains 481 active cases in Australia. Thirty of them are in hospital and six of those are in ICU.
- There is still some mystery surrounding the death of 30-year-old Nathan Turner in Blackwater. The COVID-positive nurse who travelled to the town and had been seen as a potential carrier of the virus to the central Queensland town says she never left her car. She had made the 400-kilometre round trip to Blackwater, she told investigators, to watch the sunset.
- According to John Hopkins University, the total number of global cases is just shy of 5.7 million. More than 350,000 have died.
- Deaths in the United States passed 100,000, but President Donald Trump appeared more concerned about being fact-checked on Twitter.
- The NRL is back tonight. It's the Broncos v the Eels tonight at an empty Suncorp Stadium.
