Child in critical condition after near-drowning in southern Queensland dam
A young boy is fighting for life at a southern Queensland hospital after a near-drowning in a dam.
Paramedics were called to the private dam in Cottonvale, 106 kilometres south of Toowoomba, about 1.30pm on Wednesday following a "post-immersion incident".
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the patient was taken to Stanthorpe Hospital in a critical condition.
A helicopter was flying to Stanthorpe to transfer the boy to a larger hospital.
