Ben Barba charged after fight with partner at north Queensland casino
Rugby league star Ben Barba has handed himself into Queensland police and been charged after a physical altercation with his partner Ainslie Currie at a Townsville casino earlier this year.
Police said the 29-year-old has been issued with a notice to appear for two public nuisance offences and his matter is due in Townsville Magistrates Court on March 22.

An order banning him from the Townsville casino has also been extended for a further three months after he surrendered to Mackay police on Tuesday morning.
It is understood the alleged incident happened at The Ville Resort-Casino, a sponsor of the Cowboys, and there is CCTV footage of the alleged incident.
Barba was sacked by the North Queensland Cowboys on February 1 and had his registration with the NRL cancelled following the alleged incident.
Barba had hoped to resurrect his career with the Cowboys following a stint in the UK with St Helens.
He returned on the understanding this would be his last chance in the NRL after a string of off-field issues. Barba left the Cowboys without having played a game for the club.
