A new Ghibli film, Lego dinosaurs and 50 Cent: The best things to do in Brisbane this week

By Nick Dent

All-time music greats of rap, grunge and electronica are in town this week.

Enigmatic and influential German electronic band Kraftwerk will take up their motionless positions behind the keyboards on Monday night. Likely to be more lively are the fierce females of L7 rocking The Tivoli, while rapper-entrepreneur 50 Cent keeps it real with his Final Lap tour at Boondall.

If you like to keep your hands busy you’re in luck with the Jurassic World by Brickman exhibition’s DIY section, which allows visitors to make their own blocky dinosaurs, and vibrant local designer and Instagram star Rachel Burke hosting a Christmas workshop for the Museum of Brisbane.

All this, plus Opera Australia’s Aida and a new movie from Studio Ghibli’s Hayao Miyazaki.
